New group forms to push different budget priorities
AP Story
A new group has formed in New Hampshire to push for new federal budget priorities.
It's called PrioritiesNH, and aims for a federal budget that switches money from weapons to education, health care, cutting the federal deficit, job training and energy independence.
The group says it can be done, without hurting defense, by getting rid of obsolete Cold War and nuclear weapons and freeing up $60 billion in the federal budget that pays for them.
Ben Cohen of Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream and military expert Lawrence Korb were in Concord on Wednesday to join a group of New Hampshire businesspeople to launch the group.
